An experimental, kaleidoscopic collective, New York’s Gang Gang Dance have more than eight years of experience making modern tribal music that rivals the most eclectic of art-rock bands. Their music’s foundation rests heavily in electronics and percussion, but the band differentiates itself with its addition of world music — whether it be an Asian, Indian, Middle Eastern or African twist. They have released four studio albums to date, including last year’s Saint Dymphna — named, intriguingly, after the patron saint of those who suffer from mental illnesses and nervous system disorders.
